While Jennifer dabbled in bike racing (that's how the girls met), her real talent lied in marketing and public relations and for nearly 10 years, she headed up marketing departments in the action sports industry, fitting in some racing on the side.
In 1999, the girls landed the same sponsor and became teammates, racing for Intense Cycles, a Temecula-based custom mountain bike manufacturer. Leigh and Jennifer were fast friends and kept in touch after the season ended. In 2001, following Leigh's retirement from pro racing, Jennifer tipped her off to a job in the action sports industry and once again, the girls were working together, gaining mutual respect and having fun.
It was at a trade show in Las Vegas in 2002 when Leigh announced her plan to move on from the "industry" and open her own boutique. "Wanna be my business partner?" was all she needed to say to Jennifer and the plan was set in motion.
Exactly one year later, the duo signed their lease and after extensive research into owning and operating their own small business they were confident that their location will be one that will last the test of time. It has now been almost 2 years since the doors of TANGERINE have opened and the girls have not looked back-becoming the most popular fashion destination in the entire Temecula/Murrieta Valley, hosting fashion shows, donating to local causes and giving the women of our town a place to come and hang out or just be a Diva for a little while!
